CHANGE OF INFORMATION.  It is very important that school personnel be able to contact you in the event that your child becomes sick or has an accident.  Please make sure that WAES has your current contact information.

You may phone or email the school with that information as changes occur OR  .   .   .

you may go to the "FILES" section in the right-hand column of this page and select "Change of Address" to access a form to be completed and sent to school.         

 


 

TRANSPORTATION CHANGES.  Go to the "FILES" section in the right-hand column of this page and select "Transportation Changes" to access a form that you may use to change in the way your child will go home from school. 


 


 



ABSENCES FROM SCHOOL
.  Go to the "FILES" section in the right-hand column of this page and select "Absence Notes" to access a form that you may use for a parent note explaining an absence.  Up to 3 days per 9 weeks may be excused by parent note.  After that, the student must have a note from the doctor before an absence will be excused.

 

         




EARLY DISMISSAL.
  Fast-changing weather conditions can cause the early dismissal of school.  We know that school dismissing at an earlier time than usual, may change the plans you have for your child's afternoon. 
 

Please make sure that your child's teacher knows where your child should go in the event of school dismissing early. You may go to the "FILES" section in the right-hand column of this page and select "Early Dismissal" to access a form to be completed and sent to school. 



 

 

 

DELAYED OPENING PROCEDURES.  When school opening is delayed, you will receive a school cast phone message and announcements will be made on radio and TV stations.

If school is delayed one hour, the doors will open at 8:15 a.m. and students will go to their classes at 8:40 a.m.  Likewise, if the delay is two hours, the doors will open at 9:15 a.m. and students will go to their classes at 9:40 a.m.

NO BREAKFAST WILL BE SERVED when school opening is delayed. 

      



 
LOST & FOUND.  Remember to put your child's names in all jackets, sweaters, lunch boxes, etc. to help get those items returned to their proper owners!

LOST & FOUND items are located on the stage in the Gym.  Come by today to look for your child's items!

PAYLIANCE.  Your check is welcome at WAES.  Make sure that your current phone number and address are imprinted on the check.

If a check is returned unpaid for any reason, WAES is authorized to electronically collect or create a demand draft to collect, the face amount of the check and a $30 return check service fee as well as any applicable bank fees and taxes. Go to www.payliance.com for more information.




 


WAES:  A TITLE I SCHOOL
.  Title I is a federal program that provides additional funds to pay the salary of a classroom teacher and a portion of the salaries of the math curriculum coach and the Parent Involvement Specialist.  Title I funds are also used to purchase classroom materials and supplies as well as parental involvement materials and supplies. Go to the "FILES" section on the right-hand side of this page and select "Title I Plan (CIP)" to view the 2010-2011 WAES plan.

  

WAES encourages parents of its students to be involved by completing and returning surveys/evaluations and by serving on various committees that meet during the year. Those committees review and update:

  • Compact(student/parent/teacher agreement)
  • The CIP (WAES Title I Plan) which includes the WAES Parent Involvement Plan
  • The system-wide Title I Plans and budget

Superintendent's Office if you are interested in serving on a Title I committee.
